One of the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations that ensures a graduate of a secondary school will have the opportunity to go to the next academic level is the NECO (Tertiary institution).

Registration Start?

NECO registration typically opens in December and ends in May, however based on previous experience, this could change at any time depending on the government’s educational strategy.

Timetable

The examination body will release the Timetable, which will include examination dates and times for all subjects, after the conclusion of all registration processes across the nation.

Examination Type

The Internal NECO test and the Private NECO are the two different types of NECO exams.

The Internal NECO exam is a type of exam that is related to a particular school, so in order to take it, you must be registered in one of these authorized or approved schools.

NECO Gce, commonly referred to as private NECO, is meant for students who are not formally or academically enrolled in any one school. They each register separately, and a specific exam number and place are assigned to them.

Examination Period

Typically, the Internal NECO is completed between June and July, with results being made available to the public in July or August.

Regarding the private type (NECO GCE), it always occurs between November and December, with the results expected to be made public in January of the following year.
